A. O. GAROI

A. O. Garoi writes and lives around the world. She is the author of the Hofinda Series, and the book OAK, Extended Halloween Days.

In addition to writing, she works as an art director, overseeing the visual concepts of her works, including the creation of her logo, the Simultaneous Feathers. She holds degrees in law, graphic design, and audiovisual production focused on 3D animation. She is also a travel enthusiast and currently a programmer.

Garoi's visual artistic talent allowed her to create the Simultaneous Feathers, a symbol to help readers identify which genre prevails in each of her writings. The name Garoi means "wind that welcomes," and her works are imbued with this welcoming nature that also calls for dynamism and flexibility.

Garoi also works as an art director and multimedia designer under the name Ariane Garoi. These principles of simultaneity, movement, and welcoming are present in both her visual and written stories, through daring narratives and unusual characters.

ABOUT THE FEATHERS

The feathers that work as symbols of A. O. Garoi's writings represent the genre that prevails in each of them. They are called the Simultaneous Feathers because we can equally say they are disintegrating or forming because of their appearance. This simultaneity is purposeful because it’s related to what happens when reading stories: some of them help us dismantle fixed ideas while also allowing us to form new perspectives of life and worlds.

The green feather,

marked by a single diagonal line at its upper half, is to signal the books in which stories there is a prevalence of elements more attributed to the sci-fi genre. It tells of parallel worlds, distant lands of futuristic technologies and the wonders of the universe waiting to be uncovered.

The blue feather,

with two diagonal lines at its upper half, is to signal the books in which stories there is a prevalence of elements more attributed to the fantasy genre. It tells of enchanted forests, magical creatures, and intriguing quests that take readers on wondrous adventures which materialize with every word.

The orange feather,

with three diagonal lines at its upper half, is to signal the books in which stories there is a prevalence of elements more attributed to the dystopian genre. It tells of societies grappling with their own creations, and of challenges that mirrored our own struggles.

The magenta feather,

with four diagonal lines at its upper half, is to signal the books in which stories there is a prevalence of elements often found in Book Tales (short stories).

The silver feather

represents reality as a narrative in itself, from which all other imaginative narratives grow.
